   Threat to Chelsea Rent Regulated Tenants in New York
 

If you are a rent regulated tenant in Chelsea you must have concern for your apartment and your community of affordable housing.

If the Mayor gets his Jet Stadium the gentrification of Chelsea may imperil your apartment directly or indirectly.

Landlords will be reluctant to accept the rent you now pay when, if they can get rid of you, they will be able to get multiples of your rent. There will be a great incentive to harass you out of your apartment.

If you are rent controlled by now you are senior citizens and it is most difficult for a senior citizen to relocate.

As a tenant advocate, I have attempted to ask the State and City where you would be able to find affordable housing and all I get is silence.

   

I am raising this alert now to say you must become proactive.

Tell your council person, your state senator or your assembly person that you are concerned that you will lose your home if the Jet Stadium is built. Tell them to send the Jet Stadium to Staten Island or Queens or the Bronx, where there is plenty of land for such nonsense.
